Speaking from a personal experience, it can feel like a drawback to be in an extroverted world but in many ways the 'quiet people' outshine the rest.
Introverts are always misunderstood by the world, people think they are anti-social and shy, they even assume that introverts don't need anyone in their life whereas the real story is really very different.
Introverts also like socializing but they just need time to refresh themselves, they feel exhausted after some extent. And yes, the most important thing, this behaviour is not their choice, their way of responding to dopamine is different when compared to extroverts. This makes them feel and react differently. They take more time to process information than extroverts, this is because they process more thoughtfully.
While extroverts are often filled with the thoughts that they need to speak up in order to be successful, introverts can actually achieve even more if they polish their natural strengths.
Here are five benefits of being an introvert:
1) They think before they speak.
Introverts speak less, but whenever they do, they make sure to choose their words wisely and not speak anything unimportant. This leads to better understanding and avoids unnecessary arguments.
2) They are more understanding.
Introverts analyze everything in their mind deeply, this makes them understand everyone's point of view, which is a sense of great understanding. They surely take their time but come up with a better and thoughtful solution because in the meantime they think from everyone's perspective and that's what is known as a good understanding.
3) They are good listeners.
Extroverts are often in a hurry to speak up their thoughts and keep their point without trying to listen to other people's opinions whereas introverts will keep quiet and listen carefully and after thinking a lot about that matter they come up with a conclusion and then speak. Communicating is a whole process for introverts, which is a great point.
4) They are more focused on quality than quantity.
Introverts can actually feel exhausted being in large groups as compared to extroverts who gain energy from being around people. This is what makes them choose friends wisely. They would rather have a few trustworthy and loyal friends than a large number of people whom you may call friends but hardly know anything about them, and these are known as acquaintance.
5) They can be extroverted if needed.
Sometimes when introverts need to speak publicly like giving a presentation or a speech, they can actually act like extroverts and look really confident, they just need to motivate themselves and they are good to go. So this can be a win win situation for them.
